We are just getting used to the new rules in the Liskeard area, particularly with regards to chicken manure i.e. organic manures with a high readily available nitrogen content.

Closed period for spreading:

Grassland: 15th October - 15th January

Tillage land: 1st October - 15th January

Storage:

Poultry manure can be stored in temporary field heaps if they are solid enough to be stacked in a free-standing heap and do not give rise to free drainage.

Poultry manure without bedding / litter i.e. the cage manure should be covered with an impermeable sheet.

The NVZ area takes in the catchment of the East Looe River from St Cleer / Dobwalls down to Duloe and Widegates and almost down as far as Looe. If you need to check if your fields fall into the NVZ, check on http://defranvz.adas.co.uk/
